Due to its high anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory qualities, turmeric can help you ward off colds, flu symptoms, and sore throat along with infections. Use the following ingredients below to make your immune-boosting tea.
Ingredients:
- Peel of 1 yellow lemon
- 5 cups of water
- 2 inches of ginger root
- 2 inches of turmeric root
- tiny pinch of cayenne pepper
- tiny pinch of black pepper
- 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of avocado or coconut oil
Preparation & Consumption:
Squeeze the lemon juice and set it aside, cut the ginger into thin slices, grate the turmeric root with the skin on. In a large tea kettle, add in the water, turmeric, ginger, lemon peel, cayenne pepper, and black pepper and let it boil, lower the heat and simmer for an extra 7 minutes before turning off the heat.
Once warm enough to drink, add in the lemon juice, oil, and honey, stir until combined correctly, and drink this tea 3-4 times per day to strengthen your immune system and help you reduce your cold or flu symptoms.
