Here is my easy elderberry tea for sore throat recipe that you need to try this winter! This tea is also great for cough, the common cold, flu, and helps strengthen the immune system plus, it’s very soothing. Go grab you teapot and lets have some tea.
Note: Make sure you’re not allergic to elderberry or any of the ingredients in this recipe.
How This Tea Helps With Sore Throat
Elderberry – helps prevent and treat viruses, it also contains anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties so drinking a hot cup of elderberry tea can help soothe the throat lining.

Elderberry Sore Throat Tea Recipe
Ingredients for 2 cups | Total time: 5 minutes
- 2 cups of water
- 2 tablespoons of dried elderberries
- 1 Ceylon cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon of raw honey
- 1 lemon (squeezed)
Preparation:
Combine the water, elderberries, and cinnamon stick in a saucepan and place it over high heat. Let it come to a boil and and immediately lower the heat. Let the mixture simmer for an extra 15-20 minutes and cut off the heat.
Let the tea sit for an extra 5 minutes, strain, mix in the honey and lemon juice before serving while it’s still warm. Drink this tea twice per day to reduce sore throat, cough, and the common flu.
