Here’s my favorite DIY brown sugar homemade face scrub recipe that I’ve used for years to exfoliate my skin. This face scrub recipe never gets old and although there are tons of variations around, mine is just 3 ingredients and works like a charm.

It’ll help you decide if the ingredients are right for your skin or if you are allergic to them. To so a simple skin patch test, apply a small amount of the mixture behind your ear or inner upper arm.
If there is swelling, redness, or itching, it means that you are allergic to one or more of the ingredients in which case, do not use the remedy.

DIY Brown Sugar Homemade Face Scrub
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of organic virgin coconut oil (melted)
- 1 tablespoon of raw honey
How To Make and Use This Brown Sugar Scrub
In a clean bowl, combine the coconut oil, honey and brown sugar and mix until all the ingredients are well combined. Apply it to your face using clean fingertips and begin to scrub gently in a circular motion.
Make sure to steer clear of your eye area when applying the scrub. Let the face scrub remain on your face for a few minutes after scrubbing and rinse with warm water.
Pat your face dry with a clean towel and use this face scrub once a week to avoid stripping your skin of natural oils.

Who Should Not Use This Face Scrub
If you are allergic to coconut oil, have acne prone skin, seborrheic dermatitis, oily skin, or rosacea, do not add coconut oil to this sugar scrub.
Also, you suffer from eczema, psoriasis, or have open cuts or wounds on your face, you should not use brown sugar on your skin because it can aggravate the wounds.
How To Store This DIY Brown Sugar Homemade Face Scrub
To store your homemade brown sugar scrub, simply transfer the remaining of your scrub into a jar with a tight lid. Close the lid and put it in the fridge for up to a month.
Since this scrub does not contain fresh ingredients, it can be stored longer however, I recommend you always check your scrubs for molds when storing for long-term.
