5 Thoughtful Gifts To Get Yourself For Christmas This Year
Listening to Christmas carols, decorating a Christmas tree, or wrapping Christmas gifts for your loved ones is extremely fulfilling but it can be stressful as well. That’s why taking time off to relax and pamper yourself before the big day is totally important and healing.
Without further Ado, here are some thoughtful gifts to get yourself for Christmas this year!
1. Get Some Time Alone
I know, this one may be one of the hardest gifts to give yourself especially if you have a large family or kids but you need to get some time alone! Trust me, you need this alone time to do a complete overhaul of your mind and body, it’s the least you can do for YOU!
This alone time is also necessary to reflect on your past and make some new plans for the year ahead but how can you make it a possibility? Well, here are some ideas.
If you have kids, get someone to look after them for 2 hours a day and go for a long walk. Make sure you go outdoors, breathe in some fresh air, and for once, make this walk about YOU! No distractions!
If you love reading, get a new book, if you love movies, find something new on Netflix, just make sure your time alone curled up on a sofa is NOT TO BE DISTURBED!
2. Get Yourself A Pamper kit
Another amazing gift to give yourself this Christmas is a Pamper kit! It could be a hair care kit or a bath kit, these are inexpensive so no excuses! Trust me, it’ll be worth it.
Imagine yourself having a bubble bath with a glass of wine, listening to your favorite music with some lit candles! Uggh!
One of the best ways to lower your cortisol levels and increase your dopamine levels naturally, you’ll feel brand new after this one, I promise!
Another way I like to pamper myself during the holidays is by getting a new haircut or color which I think is an amazing gift you need to try.
It increases your self-confidence and gives you a whole new look! Lastly, try a new face mask kit, they will take your new haircut look to a whole new level.
3. Get Some Sweets and Treats
You could either make some or buy some but whatever you do, get some of your favorite treats and sweets for your alone time. If you don’t have favorites, there are tons of Christmas treats and chocolate baskets on Amazon (affiliate link) that you can try out.
I also have this list of Christmas snack ideas that you can make. I also love Cadbury’s Snowballs, and mince pies which taste amazing. You could also go for a savory treat basket if you don’t have a sweet tooth, there are so many options!
4. Focus On Your Self-care
Similar to some alone time, you need to gift yourself a bit of self-care time. Choose what self-care means to you, and do it! Here are some ideas to try but just remember to make your self-care time undisturbed!
- Practice Mindfulness and Meditation: Set aside a few minutes each day for mindfulness or meditation. It can help reduce stress, improve focus, and bring a sense of calm to your busy life.
- Create a Relaxing Bedtime Routine: Prioritize quality sleep by establishing a calming bedtime routine. This could include reading a book, practicing gentle stretches, or listening to soothing music to prepare your body and mind for rest.
- Explore a Creative Outlet: Discover or revisit a creative hobby that brings you joy, whether it’s painting, crafting, writing, or playing a musical instrument.
- Healthy Eating Habits: Nourish your body with wholesome and nutritious foods. Experiment with new recipes, and savory meals that make you feel good.
- Stay Connected with Loved Ones: Nurture your social connections. Spend time with friends or family members who uplift and support you.
5. Get a Journal
Getting a journal is a must because as you know, after Christmas, comes a whole new year which means you need to make some new plans and jot down your resolutions.
Journaling is a great way to express your feelings in a safe and private place. There’s something about putting pen to paper that clears your mind, and creating goals for your career, personal life, or mental health journey is a great way to manifest your aims for the year ahead.
Here are some of my favorite journals on Amazon for you to browse through. You can also check out my other post on 150 gift ideas and wish list for Christmas. Here’s another Christmas dinner preparation post I just wrote!
